TJ Tilcox
laura
Born in Hillsburgh, Ontario, TJ is only 21 years old, but do not be fooled by his boyish looks. Almost all the members of his family have been truck drivers at some point in their lives. Not to mention that he has been driving a truck ever since he turned 16.
TJ loves being a truck driver, but he does not like the cold very much. He came to Yellowknife not for the money, but for the experience. He had a run of bad luck in the 2007 season as he was injured while tying down a load, and suffered severe abdominal pains only a few days later. After being flown to a hospital, T.J. returned to the ice roads.
TJ’s load count up to the latest episode (“The Big Melt”) was 288 tons, which means he earned $29,000.

Rick Yemm

“If you’re timid, this road will eat you up.”
Rick is 32 years old and lives in Colona , British Columbia . This is his second season on the ice roads. The 2006 season was a terrifying experience for him. The sound of the crackling ice almost made him quit. He did not quit, but he did not make it to the end of the season either. In 2007 Rick came back, anxious to hit the ice road and show Hugh what he is made of. A malfunction with the heater in his cab caused him to end his season early.
Ricks load count up to the latest episode (“The Big Melt”) was 374 tons, which means he earned $28,000.
