Season 2, Episode 1: “Edge of the Earth”
The first episode of Season 2, “Edge of the Earth”, originally aired on the Sunday, June 8th, 2008.
As the year’s transport season has begun and after they have converged on Inuvik, the drivers will have to adapt to the new rules and conditions, for they are considered to be “highway maggots”, along with the others that disturb the peace and quiet of the area throughout which they are passing by. But that does not stop them, neither does the fact that they are out of radio signal while crossing parts of the Arctic Ocean. Hugh seems to have problems with his brakes, but he manages to take his first load to Mallik, while Rick gets into an accident while bringing a truck to Alex, up the Dempster Highway. Drew is repeatedly delayed, firstly because his gear was not proper for the cold weather, and secondly because there were no available working trucks left, thus making him quit. Soon after that, he starts to wonder if he made the right decision. A new driver joins the crew, Eric Dufresne, which transports a derrick to Mallik.
